post-7 mins in.... Baudrillard building upon Marxist foundation....

so capitalism when extended folds into, or extends into, Marxism?

this explains Obama's role, and how the U.S. milieu is playing out.

12 minutes in, now he's bashing Madonna. you gotta like this guy.

I con't know about marxist/capitalist...but I think this guy did a good job of explaining JB...at least for me. I had read at least one of JB's books and as well as articles but did not feel I really got his message... apparently I'm a fucking dim wit, as well as an "in-articulate worm" (Bobs words).

NOW, I feel more comfortable in Baudrillard's skin thanks to this video.

Yes, he's great. Now I know what Android meme means. Bob's a genius, but now I can see some of the source files... Baudrillard is a major underpinning. Maybe the second in the line of procession to MM.

I also understand that I haven't personally existed for some time now, except in service to the machine.

I have been spending most of my time in the Dark City.

Yeah, I saw DC in the theater and noticed some similarities when I saw the Matrix a year later. I really liked both but have to give the Matrix the nod as a better movie.

Both are collective freak outs over the self....kind of like what Rick Roderic is talking about in 1993. I'm listening to, and enjoying his whole series.

I am noting the difference between real and hyper-real in stories like this:

Wow...soo 1992.
A funny thing in that RR series is he talks about librals attitudes toward Clinton and they sound just like current libral attitudes toward Obama.

in 1992 there was no internet that could serve a rallying call for a movement to stand behind bundy and galvanize the freedom and gun lovers and attempt to create a new watershed event. this is what's happening via facebook and youtube.

where the hyperreal and the real intersect is interesting here.

BOB: I didn't get the "Android Meme" concept from Baudrillard. I haven't explained it here and Foo's joking statement/definition hasn't ever been accurate. iON is the completement of my definition of the Android Meme.

(Not sure what Bob is saying I'm inaccurate about...but he's probably right.)

Body - Before the internet there was a huge print explosion due to PC's, and desktop publishing software. People would mock up a "zine" on their computer, then give the file to a publisher who would print it for money. I forget how much but it wasn't a crazy amount. Besides that there were tons of "mailers" flyers, pamphlets that were probably printed on home printers.

Lots of these things were anti-govt, pro-gun. When Clinton landed they went berserk (as much as you can in the print medium). That's why I say the crazy over the top anti-Obama stuff is just like 1992.
