Is it just this site or is Bob MIA from the internet for the last month? Should we declare him dead?

BOB: I just got back last Wed. from visiting London, Bath (spoke at a Wyndham Lewis conference), Barcelona, Cordoba, Berlin (perhaps the best city), Geneva and Saas-Fee in the mountains, Nice, Rome, Paris, Dublin, back to London, and Los Angeles.

I was gone 5 weeks, and took 4,000 pictures on my iPhone.

Now we go to Washington on Wed. where Carolyn gets an Excellence in Integrative Medicine Award, then I go to Toronto for 2 weeks.

Hope you and yours had a fun summer.

Sounds like a great trip.
Nothing to report here.
I know you are coming from a warm clime, but I hope that conditions you for Washington on Wednesday...the East coast humidity is like soup right now.
Maybe you will wing in on a thunderhead.

(edit)
As an explaination to why I would jump in a car and drive to Toronto (see my reply to Ad A below)...my summer has consisted of:
a. Trying to avoid getting divorced.
b. Working every weekend to get out of the financial pickle my wife put us in.
c. Growing a garden and making food from the garden (it is enjoyable).
d. Asking myself..."Am I living just to make money?"
(end edit)

Seemed like you did bring some lower humidity.

By the way...there was a report this summer that some of the most famous people in the US are Youtube stars. It was a big deal in the media because most of the pundits had not heard of the Youtube people. However when I asked my kids they knew ALL of them.

Kind of confirms your assertion that Youtube is the most powerful medium.

Bob's coming to Toronto during the annual flooding of the celebrities (Toronto International Film Festival -- one of the co-founders of which was also behind the shortlived McLuhan Festival)
Even Jon Stewart will be in town, but I believe you'll just miss him -- his film ROSEWATER ((about the Iranian journalist who was arrested and tortured on suspicion of being a spy/collaborating with the enemy after he did a segment with the Daily Show's Jason Jones while JJ was in Iran)) is premiering (not a WORLD premiere, but an "international" premiere, which I guess means it's the first showing outside of the States) on Sept. 8, and screening again on Sept. 9... JS will definitely be in town for a Q&A on Sunday the 7th, but I assume he's then going back to NY to do his show on the 8th and 9th... too bad... I only mention it because, if I had my choice of TIFF celebrities for Bob to have some sort of encounter with while he was here, Stewart would obviously be at the top of the list.
Let's see, who else would be resonant...
I wonder if Bob D JR will still be in town? His film (THE JUDGE) already premiered, but maybe he'll stick around...
Bill "What About Bob?" Murray is here too...

I don't mean to invite myself but Toronto is starting to intrigue me. I've never been to Toronto and it's only 8hrs away. It's the second time this summer I've been tempted to take a road trip. I imagine the hotels would be packed and the place would be nuts for the festival.

Why not invite yourself to Toronto?? It's a marvellous place, and the weather is still very nice... I couldn't possibly put you up myself, but I don't know how totally packed the hotels are, except for the highend places where celebs stay -- I don't think very many tourists/fans come to the city just for the film festival, but I could be wrong. Besides, the fest is over at the end of this weekend, well before Bob leaves...
